Hello,
Since I've been laid up, I've been watching a lot of tv. Ellen happens to be my favorite show at the moment - it's only half a day behind here so I can still get the latest episode! Her show has been discussing the finale of The Bachelor. I had been talking to my mom when the finale was on. She and my step-dad were watching the show - she had to let me go so that she could watch what was happening.
For those of you who don't know: The bachelor (I think his name is Jason) proposed to Melissa who said yes. Then on the comeback show he broke up with her on live air and the told Molly that he couldn't stop thinking about her. So now he's with Molly.
I was enraged by this - you don't dump someone on air. I don't care - it's cruel, ruthless and just down-right awful. Anyway, Ellen had everyone on her show because she was also enraged by everything that went down. She had the host on her show on Wednesday, Melissa on Thursday and the bachelor and his new-main-squeeze-for-the-month on Friday. I watched on Wednesday and Thursday, but I didn't get to watch the loser and his new lady because I will be at Fuel on Monday. I might try and YouTube it though after I get back.
Anyway, I just feel bad for Melissa because she had asked if there was another woman and Jason lied to her. He said no there wasn't. Melissa then went so far as to ask if it was Molly - and again he said no. He just doesn't deserve her and I'm glad she's free of him. Now if I was Molly - I would say no - you didn't choose me and it's been 3 months since the ending of the show. You just don't get back together with a skeeze bag like that. So shame on her.
And to The Bachelor - I don't think signing women up to throw themselves at men is doing women any justice. I don't see the man on the show throwing himself at the women. Now there is The Bachelorette - but there haven't been as many of those shows as The Bachelor. It's not actually reality - it's the environment you've created that makes them think they're in love. Or lust.
Ugh - I'm done with my tangent now. I need to go pack for the FUEL weekend.
Disclaimer: I don't even watch The Bachelor when I am home. Or Ellen for that matter because I have class at the time she's on tv. I'm more of a CSI (Las Vegas) and Cash Cab fan myself.

YAY CASHCAB!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have never seen the Bachelor.. UNTIL my service trip. I was foreced to watch the 3 hour episode AND the next day's thing. And I must say, it's quite addicting, and I very much dislike that man. But, I didn't like Molly much either. Maybe they deserve eachother.
